What is a pest ?
A pest is any living organism that is considered harmful or detrimental to humans or their activities.
What can a pest control company do that I cannot do myself ?
Although you are able to buy pesticides from hardware shops, they are not as effective as the professional products we use. Our technicians carry out a full inspection of your premises as pests can gain access to all areas of your property. It is important that your premises are treated thoroughly to prevent reinfestation and resistance to pestcides.
How soon can you come out?
Often the same day, always within 24 hours
Why do we need to have more than one treatment?
Most of our treatments require a course of visits in order to eradicate the problem. This is designed to identify the level of infestation and treat accordingly. Usually we would carry out three visits for most pests as recommended by the British Pest Control Association.
How long will the treatment take?
It is difficult to give a definitive answer, however our technicians will not rush the treatment. They will carry out a thorough inspection and treat accordingly. Once our treatment is complete our technician will explain what he has done and this will documented in an inspection report.
Are you baits dangerous to my children or pets?
By nature, pesticides are designed to kill and cannot be deemed as ''safe.'' Studies show that when pesticides are applied according to label directions no adverse health effects occur to persons applying the product or to occupants of the treated building. However we place our bait in tamper resistant bait boxes which are inaccessible to children and animals and require a special key in order to be opened.
How quickly can you resolve my mouse problem?
It depends upon the nature of the infestation, the numbers of mice, and the property infested, but it is normally about 2-3 weeks.
How do I know I have rats?
Rats can be detected by evidence of fresh gnawing or the presence of droppings. Droppings are blunt and about 3/4" in size. Tracks can be seen in mud and on dusty surfaces. Runways and burrows may be found next to buildings, along fences, and under low vegetation and debris. Rat urine glows blue/white under UV light. Greasy dirt marks from the rat's fur rubbing against common passageways along walls and pipes may also be a sign of an infestation. One may also be able to detect rats by hearing them running on ceiling tiles or moving inside walls. Rats seen in the daytime indicate a severe infestation demanding immediate action.
What diseases do rats carry?
The most important disease carried by rats is Weil's Disease (Leptospirosis) which can be fatal if early symptoms are undetected. Other diseases include murine typhus, and a range of gastro-intestinal ailments.

How do I know if I have a wasps nest?
Wasps normally nest in and around buildings. If you study the area where the wasps are active it is likely that you will see them going in and out of a hole on a regular basis, this will normally be the entrance to the nest.
Under no circumstances should members of the public attempt to treat a wasps nest. This should only be undertaken by a professional pest control company. All our technicians wear personal protective equipment when dealing with wasps nests.
After treatment, how long does it take a wasps nest to be completely eradicated?
The time taken to die off completely depends on access to the nest. If we can treat the nest directly, then it may be less than an hour to die but we normally allow up to a day.
Are your technicians qualified?
